Author: Rointe
Discover why it´s important to have a connected heating network you can access anytime, anywhere with our latest article.
There are plenty of things that go into creating a warm and comfortable home. The first being a reliable heating system. Considering over 8 million people in the UK turned their heating on earlier this year than ever before, having a sufficient heating system is of the utmost importance. Not only that, but you’ll also require an efficient heating solution that can help you to cut costs.
Rointe not only offers an abundance of heating solutions for both residential and commercial properties, but our equipment is state of the art, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to use. With the help of our unique technology and advanced connectivity features, every home will have access to an affordable heating network to keep them warm during the coldest months of the winter.
Why choose Rointe Heating?
Before settling on a particular brand or product, you need to take note of the benefits offered. By far we have the most to offer, not only because we use the best quality materials, but also because we make it easy to customise your heating solutions. Some of the most important reasons as to why you should choose Rointe this winter include:
- Creating stable humidity and room temperatures
When you opt for one of our products, you’re choosing heating solutions that rely on natural convection in comparison to forced air. Our radiators, for example, help to keep the temperature of the room within ±0.25ºC. All of this is completed at only 40% of the unit’s nominal power, making each radiator incredibly efficient. This is particularly important as homeowners can save more than 3% off their monthly heating bills simply by avoiding adjusting their temperature.
- Relying on natural air convection
The heat produced by your radiators, towel rails or underfloor heating will evenly spread itself through a room with the help of natural airflow. As the warm air travels upwards, it will ensure that every metre of your house is sufficiently warmed.
- Minimal energy consumption
6 in 10 elderly residents throughout the UK cut back on winter heating because of the costs of heating their homes with fuel such as oil and gas. With us, all you have to do is rely on a constant source of electricity in order to enjoy perfect warmth all year round and for a fraction of the cost of other fuels.
Not only that, but our products are specifically engineered to be energy efficient. With the help of Fuzzy Logic Control, every one of our products is designed to use less energy than you could imagine. In fact, it’s so useful that it is patented and only available from us. Every room in your home will easily be heated to 21ºC by using only 38% of the equivalent ratio consumption. Fuzzy Logic Control alone can help you to save up to 62% on your annual heating bills, in comparison to other heating devices with no thermostat.
- Aesthetically pleasing choices
One of the most notable features of our systems is the sleek and modern designs. The D Series radiator is manufactured from 100% slimline aluminium with a curved design and now available a variety of colours. From white to graphite, or ruby red to antique gold, you can find your perfect finish with our DESIGNLINE collection.
- Connectivity features
Above all else, our heating solutions give you the ability to create your own heating network at home or the office. The connectivity features are incredibly important as they are one of the main ways you can cut back on your monthly heating costs. With the help of the free downloadable Rointe Connect app and a smart device, you can revolutionise the way your property is heated. The app acts as a central management tool and allows complete control of all D Series products – radiators and towel rails – plus our Rome connected water heater and underfloor heating range. It is fully adaptable to both large and small properties, as long as you have access to an internet connection and a smart device (tablet, smartphone, laptop etc.). You can view real-time energy consumption reports by day, month or year, along with the ability to configure different kWh prices for each hour of the day. It will also send notifications and alerts direct to your smartphone so you remain in control. Anytime, anywhere.
The importance of connected heating solutions
The main idea behind adding connectivity features into household appliances is to not only give homeowners the benefit of convenience but to also make every property more efficient by consuming less electricity. Our heating solutions are no different; as their connectivity features make it easier to customise the way you heat your home. Little do most homeowners know that using a connectable heating solution can help them to cut up to 30% of their annual heating costs.
How to create your own Rointe heating network
Now that you’re aware of the many features included with connecting your Rointe devices to the Rointe Connect App, it’s time for you to set up your very own heating network. Once the setup is complete, you will have full control over the temperature in your home. It’s important to set your heating network up completely otherwise, you may become one of the 53% of surveyed homes that have smart heating solutions but don’t use them to their full advantage.
To download the app, depending on the device you’re using, you will need to access the relevant app store. For example, Apple users can visit the App Store, Android users can visit the Google Play Store, and computer users will need to download via RointeConnect.com. The app is completely free to download. To ensure that all of your products can be sufficiently monitored, it’s advised that you download the app on multiple devices. This will allow you to review real-time statistics from anywhere and adjust your heating equipment as needed.
Step 1: Register and create a new installation
You will now need to register an account through the application by following the registration wizard.
Step 2: Create a new installation
Next, you need to create a new installation. An installation represents a property, whether it be your home, an office or even a hotel. The installation wizard will guide you through the process.
Step 3: Create zones and subzones
You can also split your installation up into zones and subzones. For example, a zone could be one floor of your home and a subzone a particular room on that floor. You can divide your property up however you like, it’s completely customisable to suit your needs. This is particularly important as it gives you control over single or multiple products at once. You can have as many zones and subzones as you like, it’s totally up to you.
Step 4: Pair your products with the Rointe Connect app
Each of the D Series products incorporates a built-in Wi-Fi module within the control panel so they are ready to be connected (or paired) as soon as they are switched on. You simply need to connect each of your products to the app.
5 Tips for better heating efficiency with the Rointe Connect app
There are plenty of features in the Rointe Connect App that make it simpler to improve the efficiency of your heating equipment. With the help of the advanced connectivity features, you’ll finally have the ability to save money on household bills. Setting up your own Rointe network is easier than you could imagine and saving is simple with the help of our 5 tips.
Tip 1: Review the True Real Power
Within the application, users have the ability to stay up to date with the latest consumption statistics of every device connected to their network. Did you know over 20% of UK residents don’t know how much power they use each year? With True Real Power, you will easily be able to see which radiators are working the hardest due to colder temperatures in specific rooms and which rooms reach the perfect temperature faster. By taking advantage of the statistics shown to you through True Real Power, you can determine when to turn specific heating equipment on/off to help you save more.
Tip 2: Enable energy-saving functions
Over 46% of surveyed UK residents stated their homes aren’t energy efficient, though this is not the case with the help of our improved energy-saving functions.
The two main energy-saving functions are USER mode and OPEN WINDOWS mode; both are designed to help your product consume less energy. USER Mode is phenomenal for restricting temperatures, as you can set a comfortable temperature for a room and your radiator will ensure it’s heated and kept at that temperature.
As for the OPEN WINDOWS mode, it automatically switches off your heating product if there is a drastic change in the environment, for example, if someone were to open a window. This prevents your equipment from working overtime in order to accommodate the drop in temperature.
Tip 3: Remote locking
Another interesting feature in the Rointe Connect App is you have the ability to lock any of the products connected to your network. This helps to prevent individuals from adjusting the temperatures on their own accord. You’ll have full control of your heating equipment when you log into your app.
Tip 4: Review the price per kW/h
There’s no better way to make your home more efficient than to have real-time statistics that show rates of consumption and how much it’s going to cost. Instead of seeing a traditional chart with usage statistics, the price per kW/h feature gives you a monetary value of how much you can expect to pay for heating at the end of every month. You can also configure different kWh prices for each hour of the day per product. When you’re aware of how much money you’re spending on heating, you can easily become one of the 73% of UK residents that cut back on unnecessary heating during the winter.
Tip 5: Heating program schedules
Above all else, ensure that you take the time to program heating schedules throughout your property. With programmed schedules, you can save up to 15% off your electricity bill every year. It’s important to remember that your home doesn’t need to be heated if you’re not in it, and as such, it’s best to plan schedules around your lifestyle. For example, set your heating system to turn off when you leave for work and turn on 30 minutes before you come home. Schedules are an incredibly useful way to save money at the end of every month, especially as you won’t want to be using more utilities than you actually need. Our Kyros range includes 4 different lifestyle program schedules already installed, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs, activate and away you go.
